ZEHO ECO Jinhua Chishan Park is empowered by technology, making the "green" and "intelligent" Asian Games within reach

2023/09/19 840

On September 17th, the Hangzhou Asian Games torch relay kicked off in Jinhua. The torchbearer embarked on a journey from Jinhua International Sister City Park, traversing significant landmarks such as Tongji Bridge, the city center, Guzicheng, Duohu Central Business District, and other locations before culminating in the closing ceremony at Jinhua Asian Games Village.

Jinhua Chishan Park, a creation by ZEHO ECO, is seamlessly linked to the Asian Games sub-villages. As a pivotal endeavor supporting the Hangzhou Asian Games and serving as a cornerstone project for Jinhua City, it stands as the largest all-encompassing hilly ecological park within the urban landscape. This park harmoniously combines ecological restoration, forest vitality, and leisure and recreational amenities. It has also earned a coveted spot on the construction roster of the "Hangzhou 2022 19th Asian Games Carbon Harmony Forest."

"Green" is not only a fundamental concept for hosting the Asian Games but also serves as the primary color theme of Chishan Park.

The original park site primarily comprised demolition areas, Hongyan Mountain, ponds, roads, and a limited amount of vegetation. ZEHO ECO, in harmony with the local environment, has focused on preserving the unique hilly terrain features and native plant communities. They have achieved this by integrating the existing pond water system into the original landscape framework. To enhance the quality of the sandstone red soil, a scientific blend of peat soil and organic fertilizer has been applied. The construction process involved the creation of micro-terrain and red rock mountain landscapes, adapting to the natural mountainous setting while minimizing carbon emissions. The restoration of water banks has been carried out with a commitment to nature, utilizing eco-friendly materials such as plants, logs, and stones to reduce carbon footprints. Four ecological engineering techniques, including natural vegetation revetment and stone cage revetment, have been carefully selected for quasi-natural bank restoration, aligning with the principles of sponge cities. Today, within Chishan Park, the landscape unfolds with rolling hills and slopes, adorned by lush green trees, creating an urban oasis reminiscent of a serene forest.

Numerous details within Chishan Park underscore the "smart" approach to organizing competitions.

Leveraging the "Ecological Steward" product, which was independently developed by ZEHO , a carbon sink monitoring and management platform has been established within the park. This platform enables the visualization of carbon sink data for the park's green assets, encompassing a total of 12,900 trees. Furthermore, the park's comprehensive management platform seamlessly integrates smart services, efficient management, streamlined operations, and enhanced visitor experiences. This integration facilitates intelligent park management and maintenance, promotes energy conservation and efficiency, and ultimately aims to reduce labor and management costs associated with upkeep. Additionally, as the region's irrigation system undergoes improvements and upgrades, it is expected that carbon emissions during the maintenance process will also be significantly reduced.

Simultaneously, by blending the park's natural setting with the Asian Games theme, ZEHO ECO has introduced a 1,800-meter National Health Smart Track. This innovative track allows runners to record their pace, distance, and duration by simply brushing their face at designated stations along the route. To enhance the overall recreational experience, outdoor facilities like a children's fun track, interactive wisdom tree, and pedestrian light interactive track have been incorporated, elevating the enjoyment of sports and leisure for the community. Moreover, the park features advanced technologies such as AI (Artificial Intelligence), 5G networks, AR (Augmented Reality) navigation, and intelligent service robots. These additions have collectively established the park as a pioneering model, fusing the themes of "smart+ecology+sports." Chishan Park has thus become a prominent showcase for urban ecological concepts, urban culture, and digital advancements.

Chishan Park opened its doors to the public in January 2022, offering citizens an exceptional venue for wellness and green community engagement, making the benefits of nature easily accessible. In the future, the park will further enhance its role as a hub for promoting natural science education, setting new standards for ecological development in Jinhua City. It aspires to become a prominent member and a benchmark for urban parks in the Yangtze River Delta region.
